BUYER QUESTIONS / PROJECT CLARITY
Automotive lighting
mould questions.
Start here when preparing a tooling inquiry. Project-specific feasibility, documentation and commercial terms are confirmed with our team.
01What automotive lighting work should I discuss with Yuya?
Contact Yuya about precision injection mould requirements for automotive lighting components, including lens, bezel, light guide and two-component applications. Describe the actual part and its technical requirements so the team can confirm the proposed scope. The website presents component tooling and related application examples; it is not an offer to supply complete lamp assemblies.
02What information is needed for a mould quotation?
Prepare the component drawing or model, revision, material specification, expected production volume and intended machine information. Include appearance requirements, critical dimensions, required documents, sample acceptance criteria and target project milestones. Identify any missing information so assumptions can be recorded and resolved before a quotation becomes an agreed scope.
03What should a design for manufacturability review cover?
A DFM review should connect part geometry, material, mould operation and acceptance requirements. Useful topics include permitted gate and parting line locations, release and ejection, surface restrictions, assembly interfaces and inspection access. Ask which review documents will be supplied, who approves proposed changes and how the final drawing revision is controlled.
04Can I request an NDA before sharing drawings?
Please request an NDA review before sharing confidential files; agree confidentiality terms with our team first. Start with a non-confidential description of the project and identify your organisation’s requirements. Confirm the agreed scope and a suitable transfer channel before sending protected drawings, models or other sensitive technical information.
05How should I specify the resin for a lighting component?
Provide the approved material grade and its supplier documentation, together with the component’s intended function, appearance and any downstream processing. If the grade is still undecided, flag that decision in the inquiry. Suitability and processing requirements should be reviewed for the specific component rather than inferred from a general material name.
06How do we agree optical and appearance acceptance?
Mark the relevant surfaces and provide measurable criteria or an agreed reference standard. Define the viewing or illuminated test conditions, the sample preparation method and the party responsible for approval. Keep optical, dimensional and appearance evaluations distinct, and agree how findings and requested changes will be documented.
07What additional information does a 2K mould inquiry need?
Identify the material regions, both material grades, the function of their interface and the intended production equipment. Include requirements for adhesion or mechanical connection, visible transitions and sample evaluation. The tooling concept and available project scope need confirmation against that information before committing to a particular production method.
08Can I order plastic parts separately from a mould?
Please state whether you need tooling, trial samples or an independent plastic part production programme. Separate part supply, finishing operations, quantities and acceptance responsibilities must be reviewed and confirmed with the team. Product photographs show application examples and do not establish stock availability or a standing production commitment.
09How are mould pricing and delivery timing established?
Ask for a quotation based on the agreed part revision, tool specification, material, review requirements and deliverables. Request a schedule that identifies technical approvals, sampling and handover milestones. Confirm the effect of design changes and additional evaluations before ordering; a general website inquiry does not establish a fixed price or delivery date.
10How should mould steel be selected for an automotive lighting part?
Specify the component resin, required surface finish and intended production programme when requesting a steel proposal. Compare polishability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance for the cavity, core and other working areas. For an optical surface, review the proposed steel and finishing route together. Agree the grade, heat treatment requirements and material documentation in the tool specification; no single steel grade is suitable for every lighting application.
11What determines mould service life, and can a shot life be guaranteed?
Mould service life depends on the agreed tool design and materials, resin, operating conditions, maintenance and the acceptance limits for the moulded part. State the expected production programme and ask for a project-specific life proposal. Define how usage is recorded, which components may need replacement, the maintenance responsibilities and any warranty terms in writing. This website does not promise a standard shot count for every mould.
12How can I send a project inquiry or arrange a factory visit?
Use the Email or WhatsApp links on the contact page to introduce the project. The website inquiry form prepares an email draft for you to review and send in your email application; it does not upload drawings or send automatically. For a visit to Huangyan, Taizhou, Zhejiang, China, arrange the date and technical agenda with the team in advance.
